Personal Belongings

When you are admitted to the ward, you will be given a bedside locker in which
to keep personal belongings. For your own security, we advise that you do not
bring valuable items or large sums of money into hospital.

The hospital cannot accept liability for loss or theft of items not handed over to
the ward staff to be held in safekeeping. Responsibility for these items remains
with the patient. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer form for this. Please
note: there is limited space to secure valuables safely on most wards.

Any possessions that have been handed in for safekeeping will be returned to
you on discharge. Please note that large amounts of cash may be returned in
the form of a cheque.

NHS Tayside will not take any responsibility for the safekeeping of any
electronic equipment such as laptop computers, e-readers or mobile phones.
