A Dundee woman has raised £2,200 for two charities.

Kelly Moran has raised £2,200 and split it between ward 3 at Ninewells Hospital and Macmillan nurses in memory of her granda and grandma who sadly passed away this year.

The family funday included a football match, stalls, tombola, raffles, auctions, chest and back wax and Kelly’s friend Karen shaved off her hair!

She held a family funday in honour of her granda who fought cancer for four years. Sadly, two months before the funday her grandma passed away in ward 3.

Kelly said, “I decided to raise money to thank the Macmillan nurses at Ninewells after all their help looking after my granda.

“When my grandma passed away, I decided I wanted to honour both of them so I decided to split the money between the two areas. They staff on ward 3 were really helpful and kept my grandma comfortable during her last days.

“Even though it was raining on the day and my sister-in-law passed away that day, the funday was a success and we raised £2,200.”

Accepting the cheque on behalf of ward 3, senior charge nurse Lesley Kram said, “I would like to personally thank Kelly for her exceptionally generous donation to the ward in memory of her late grandmother.

“We recognise that during such a difficult time, what Kelly achieved with the support of her family and friends is remarkable.

“Kelly’s donation will be used to directly benefit the comfort and care of the patients in ward 3, ensuring that they have the best care experience possible.”
