IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Local artists support THAT charity art auction

Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust (THAT) is hosting its fourth fundraising art auction at Discovery Point in Dundee.

The charity art auction is being held at 6.30pm on Thursday, 17 November to raise money for the art initiative.

THAT successfully delivers art programmes in partnership with NHS Tayside and local support

agencies. The programmes are designed to stimulate and encourage people living with stroke, dementia

and other long term conditions.

During the fundraising evening, art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to bid at a silent auction on a wide variety of postcard-sized artwork created by artists from across Tayside and North Fife.

Artists donating work include Barry Fantoni, Eileen Gardner, Joe McIntyre, James Hall Thomson, Ruth Walker, Joyce Cairns and many more.

Steven Dewar, of Dundee Auctioneers Curr & Dewar, will also be auctioning a selection of individual

larger pieces of artwork.

THAT Chair Joan Forsyth said, “We are constantly astonished by the generosity of the artists who have contributed to our fourth charity art auction.

“The work and support received not only by artists but sponsors is tremendous. This event helps raise awareness of and funds for THAT, a charitable trust that works to design and develop creative engagement opportunities for people living with long term health conditions such as stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s, COPD, chronic pain, MS and many more, who will benefit greatly from this support.”
