Relax at the Roxy Coffee Pot

Patients, relatives and visitors to Roxburghe House at Royal Victoria Hospital in Dundee can now enjoy a welcome coffee in the Roxy Coffee Pot.

Staffed by volunteers the Roxy Coffee Pot can be found in the dining area of Macmillan Day Care and is open every Monday afternoon between 1.30pm and 4pm.

Visitors, patients and relatives will be able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, hot chocolate or a fruit juice at the Roxy Coffee Pot whilst taking a break away from the ward environment.

Staff at Macmillan Day Care will also be providing a drop in every Monday for outpatients, relatives and ex patients who are looking to speak to one of the specialist palliative team for advice or reassurance.

Volunteer Services Manager Derek McFarlane said, “It is hoped that visitors and patients at Roxburghe House will be able to visit our new Roxy Coffee Pot and take few minutes away from the busy ward environment.

“The success of the Roxy Coffee Pot is very much dependant on the fantastic support provided by our dedicated volunteers. Volunteers will be on hand every Monday afternoon providing a friendly welcome whilst serving hot and cold drinks.”
