New art exhibition at Whitehills gallery

Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new art exhibition.

Running throughout April and May, the exhibition features the work of local artist Anthony Shellard.

The inspiration for Anthony’s paintings comes from the local countryside with is work depicting landscape scenes from across Scotland including Arbroath, Dunottar, Glenshee and Argyll.

Speaking about his work, Anthony, who is retired said, “I haven’t had any formal art training although I get plenty of help and guidance at a weekly art session in Arbroath. I mostly work in watercolour and acrylic, mainly using acrylic over the last two years.”

The gallery is situated in the main corridor of the building and is open to the public all day. All works are for sale with 20% commission on sales being donated to Whitehills.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition. Exhibitions at Whitehills are changed every eight weeks.
