Temporary changes to Crieff Minor Injury and Illness Unit

FRIDAY, 07 JULY, 2017

IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Temporary changes to Crieff Minor Injury and Illness Unit

NHS Tayside advises that due to unplanned staff absence, Crieff Minor Injury and Illness Unit (MIIU) will be closed temporarily until Monday, 17 July.

The MIIU, which is usually open between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am-9pm on Saturday and Sunday, is experiencing staffing difficulties due to unplanned staff absence.

The MIIU will reopen and return to normal operating hours from 9am, on Monday, 17 July.

Patients can contact their GP during opening hours or contact NHS 24 on 111 in out-of-hours periods if they have a problem which cannot wait until GP surgeries reopen. They will be redirected to the Perth emergency centre if appropriate or an alternative MIIU in Perth & Kinross.

Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership Chief Officer Robert Packham said, “We would like to apologise for any disruption this may cause.

“It is essential that we provide an MIIU service with appropriately skilled staff which is safe for patients and staff. Due to staffing difficulties, we have had to make the decision to restrict the opening of the unit for a temporary period.”
