Staff nurse Agnes Grant retires after 35 years service with the NHS

Perth & Kinross nurse Agnes Grant has retired after 35 years service with the NHS.

Agnes trained at Perth College of Nursing between 1974 and 1977 before working in orthopaedics, plastics and burns wards at Bridge of Earn Hospital.

In 1982, Agnes moved to Saudi Arabia with her husband and then moved to Abu Dhabi before returning to the UK in 1987, where she worked at Perth Royal Infirmary for six months.

Agnes moved to Kingston upon Thames for three years before heading north again following the birth of her children. Agnes rejoined the NHS Tayside team at St Margaret's Community Hospital in 1993.

Head of Nursing for Community Hospital GP Units Wilma Latham said, “Agnes is a dedicated and valued member of the team who will be greatly missed.”

Agnes plans to spend time pottering in her greenhouse and said she aims to have the best window boxes in Auchterarder!
