New art exhibition at Whitehills gallery

Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new art exhibition showcasing photographs by amateur photographer Lisa McDonald.

Running throughout August and September, the exhibition features around 20 different photographs from around the Angus area and abroad.

Speaking about her work, Lisa said, “This is my very first exhibition, and I am slightly nervous. My photographs are from around Angus of local landscapes, a few sunrises and sunsets and a couple from Orlando in Florida.

“I like taking photographs in black and white and sometimes silver as I feel it gives a more dramatic effect to a picture compared to colour. My exhibition features a mix of black and white and colour photographs and I just hope everyone likes looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

“I am an AHP support worker for the NHS so photography is just a hobby at the moment, but I hope one day I could make a career out of it.”

Exhibitions at Whitehills are changed every eight weeks. All of Lisa’s artwork is for sale, with 20% commission on all sales being donated to the Whitehills Arts & Environment Fund. All money raised is used to enhance the Whitehills environment.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition.
