Springlore shared a display of botanical sculptures and photography in Hospitalfield House Garden Café in Arbroath.

This eight-week visual arts programme, designed for people with long-term conditions from across Tayside, gives participants a chance to explore image making, print, botanical dying and botanical sculpture.

Fiona McCubbin, artist and florist said, “I am delighted by the group’s enthusiasm and by the quality of the work they have produced. It has been a delight to see them bond and grow in confidence and ability each week. Their collaborative botanical sculpture is a beautiful testament to their hard work and learning.”

Kirsten Wilson, Hospitalfield House engagement and volunteer programme manager said, “Hosting the Springlore group has been a pleasure, especially as they have been able to use materials foraged from our garden within their arrangements and sculptures.”

THAT development officer Karine Neill said, “Working with natural materials in a beautiful garden for Springlore has provided a welcome moment for our participants to pause and reflect. Living with a long-term condition can be a difficult and isolating experience, but programmes such as this can help build confidence and resilience while providing social contact and opportunities for peer support.”
