Tayside Health Fund is a Registered Scottish Charity (SCO 11042) which supports NHS Tayside hospitals and services. Neonatal services welcome donations to support us in providing comfort items for parents and babies. On occasions parents chose to provide items of equipment and we would ask that you discuss this with the Senior Nurse/Senior Charge Nurse before considering purchase.
All donations to the Tayside Health Fund for neonatal services are specifically allocated to our service. If you wish to raise funds or make a donation information can be found on the Tayside Health Fund webpage. Please feel free to discuss this with the unit Senior Nurse/Senior Charge Nurse.

Knitting
We accept knitting donations of hats, baby blankets and cardigans and some baby clothes. However, we have limited room to store these items. Please speak to us to see if we currently need any knitted items.
Comfort Squares
We give comfort squares to parents to support bonding and to help with establishing breast milk supply. Please contact the unit and speak to our Family Integrated Care Lead if you would like to make these for us.
Laundry Bags
Our Baby Laundry Bags are filled with various things to support you and your babies throughout your NICU journey.
Admissions Pack- This contains lots of information about the Neonatal Unit, including what to expect and what support we can provide to your family throughout your time with us.
Ink Pad and Memory Maker- These can be used to print your babies’ footprint as a keepsake. Please ask a member of staff if you require any assistance doing this, we are happy to help.
Book- Babies can hear your voice from inside the womb so reading books provides familiarity and comfort to your baby. Reading to your baby also helps with brain development and promotes language development as they grow.
Beads of Courage- Your starter pack for beads of courage will be included within your Baby Wash Bag. This explains the program fully and how we use it in the unit.
